Biography
Shi Wangpeng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Tianjin. He graduated from Northern China Jiaotang University in 1960 and joined the CPC in 1971. He holds the title of senior engineer.
Shi had a solid government career, serving as deputy director and director of a variety of bureaus and commissions. He held high-ranking jobs with the State Economic Commission, State Planning Commission, State Council and, from 1993 to 1997, was vice-minister of the State Economic and Trade Commission. Although his chief contributions were in the areas of economics and technology, at the end of his career, Shi showed interest in social projects, including flood control, environmental protection, and aid for the poor.
Shi was vice-minister of the State Economic and Trade Commission. He is currently a Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee of Economy of the CPPCC National Committee.
