Biography Highlight

Zhu Xun, male, Han nationality, is a native of Funing, Jiangsu Province. He was born in 1930, joined the CPC in 1946 and studied both at the People‘s University of China and in the Soviet Union.

Zhu began his career as the head of a soap workshop attached to the Central China Construction University Middle School. He later was sent to the Soviet Union to study geology. Upon his return to China, he was assigned to the Northeast Jiangxi Geological Team, where he served as a technician. During the Cultural Revolution, he was sent to the countryside, where he worked as a farmer. He was recalled in 1971 to head the Jiangxi Provincial Geological Bureau‘s Geological and Mineral Resources Section. He later served in various leadership roles at the Jiangxi Provincial Geological Bureau and ultimately became minister of the Ministry of Geological Resources. Over the years, Zhu has served as president or vice-president of several mining and geological-related organizations.

Zhu was a member of the 12th, 13th, and 14th CPC Central Committees. He was also a delegate to the 15th CPC National Congress and a standing committee member of the 9th CPPCC National Congress.
