Ying Yong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Xianju County, Zhejiang Province. He was born in 1957, entered the work force in 1976, and joined the CPC in 1979. He graduated from the China University of Political Science and Law and Hangzhou University with law degrees. He began his career in Huangyan County, Zhejiang, working for the county industry bureau and the local police station. In 2003 he served as the President of the Zhejiang provincial High Court. From 2016 to 2017, he was deputy party chief of Shanghai. and from 2017 to 2020 he served as Mayor of Shanghai Municipality. In February of 2020, he became Secretary of the Hubei CPC Provincial Committee.
