Biography

Ye Peida, male, Han nationality, is a native of Nanhui, Shanghai. He graduated from the Northern University of Technology.

Ye spent most of his career as a professor at Beijing University of Posts and Communications. For most of his career, Ye mainly engaged in the research of fiber optic communication technology and made a series of achievements in the related fields of fiber optic communication system, polarity noise, mode allocation and fiber optic nonlinearity in fiber optic communication systems.

He also supervised the designing, installation and testing of the first 100kw high-power broadcast transmitter in China, the largest diamond aerial network and contributed to the large-scale broadcast transmitting station. Among his other achievements, Ye developed the research on microwave circular waveguide H01 communications and took the lead in developing research on atmospheric optical communications. He also manufactured the first microwave waveguide phase rectifier and direct coupling filter in China, and designed the 120 link digital microwave communication system.

Ye was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980.
