Tong Xiaoping, female, Han nationality, is a native of Chongqing. She was born in 1952, joined the CPC in 1986, and obtained a bachelor's degree in literature. She is a senior economist. Tong held leading posts in Chongqing, where she was promoted to director of the planning commission in 2000. She was appointed vice-mayor of Chongqing in 2003.
