Song Pingshun, male, Han nationality, is a native of Shenze, Hebei province. He was born in 1945, and joined the CPC in 1970. Song began his career at the Bureau of Public Security in Tianjin, where he served as director of the CPC Committee until 1990. Subsequently, he transferred to the Political Science and Law Committee of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, where he served as deputy secretary until 1993.
Song Pingshun is currently serving as chairman of the CPPCC Tianjin Municipal Committee.
