Sam Qian, male, Han nationality, is a native of Yangzhou, Jiangsu province. He was born in 1963, graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China, and obtained a doctorate in astrophysics from Columbia University. He was a Bakhmeteff fellow in fluid dynamics at Columbia University and a geophysical fluid dynamics fellow at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the USA. Mr. Qian was an associate director in the risk management group of Barclays Capital.
