Liu Suinian, male, Han nationality, is a native of Suide, Shaanxi Province. He was born in 1929, joined the CPC in 1947, and graduated from the planning and statistics course of People‘s University of China in 1952.
Liu Suinian is a research fellow and author of An Outline History of China‘s Socialist Economy, and The Planning of China‘s Economy. He has spent over 50 years working for the government in various capacities. He has served at the State Planning Committee as a deputy division chief, deputy director of the comprehensive analysis bureau and the Research Institute of Planned Economy. He was also Minister of Materials and Equipment. He served as a delegate to both the 13th and 14th CPC National Congresses.
Liu Suinian is a member of the standing committee and vice-chairman of the agriculture and rural affairs committee of the 9th NPC.
