Liu Shucheng, male, Han nationality, is a native of Wuqiang, Hebei Province. He was born in 1945, and initially studied at the Renmin University of China. As a postgraduate, he studied at the economics department of the graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Liu has focused on macroeconomics and quantitive economics, beginning his career as a researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He became the director of the Institute in 1998. Liu Shucheng has published several important titles in his field that analyze the fluctuation of the Chinese economy.
