Chen Xiaoya, female, Han nationality, is a native of Shashi City, Hubei province. She was born in 1953, joined the CPC in 1974, and graduated Huazhong Industrial College. From 2004-2010, she served as Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Education and was a member of the Leading Party Members Group of that ministry. From 2010 to 2014 she served as Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and a member of that Ministry's leading party group.
