Cao Yong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Changsha, Hunan Province. He was born in 1941, graduated from Leningrad University in the former Soviet Union in 1965, and obtained a doctorate from Tokyo University in Japan in 1987.
Cao Yong is among the earliest group of scientists that engaged in macromolecule study. Coordinating with other scientists, he has successfully synthesized polyethylene with a new structure and shape from rare-earth catalysts. Cao also put forward the concept of "inductivity and processing of negative ion", thus solving the problem of co-existing super-conductions and processing of macromolecules.
Cao is a macromolecule chemist and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
