Wang Yi, male, Han nationality, is a native of Longling County, Yunnan Province. He was born in 1956. He graduated from Beijing University, majored in History, and then got postgraduate education. From 1995-1999, he held the position of Vice-Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, where he was in charge of distribution. From 1999-2008, he served as vice-governor for the China Development Bank. In 2009, Supreme People's Procuratorate issued an arrest warrant on him and he was arrested on suspicion of taking bribes.
