Yu Yunbo, male, Han nationality, is a native of Fuqing, Fujian province. He was born in 1936, graduated from the People's University of China, and joined the China Zhi Gong Party in 1980. In the mid-1970s, Yu was a professor of political science at Fudan University, and in 1986 he moved to Shanghai, and served as vice-chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party Shanghai Municipal Committee. In the late 1990s he became involved with the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and served two consecutive terms as vice-chairman of its national committee.
Yu Yunbo was a member of the 7th and 8th CPPCC National Committees.
