Tong Fu, male, Han nationality, is a native of Yixing, Jiangsu Province. He was born in 1936, graduated from Beijing University and joined the CPC in 1985.
Tong spent most of his career as a research scientist. He worked his way from research fellow to director of the Purple Mountain Observatory. He also served as a leader of the Jiangsu Provincial Association for Science and Technology. Tong won several awards for his outstanding contributions to science.
Tong was a member of the 7th CPPCC, a standing committee member of the 8th CPPCC and a member of the 9th NPC Central Committee.
