Ma Dayou, male, Han nationality, is a native of Chaoyang, Guangdong Province. He was born in l9l5, graduated from Physics Department of Beijing University in l936, and obtained a doctorate from Physics Department, Harvard University, USA in l940. He has been a member and official of the China Democratic League.
Ma has spent at least 50 years as a professor, researcher, and academic administrator at Chinese universities and research institutes, specializing in various aspects of acoustics, especially sound generation, transmission and absorption. He has applied work in these areas to environmental issues. He has been a member of the NPC and of several CPPCC National Committees as well as serving in various positions in the China Democratic League.
