Biography

Li Jianguo, male, Han nationality, is a native of Juancheng, Shandong Province. He was born in 1946, and graduated from the department of Chinese language of Shandong University in 1970. He joined the CPC in 1971 and worked in the Ninghe County Culture and Education Bureau, the publicity department of the CPC Ninghe County Committee, the publicity division of the Agricultural Committee of Tianjin Municipality, and the general office of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee.

After 1981, Li served as Deputy Secretary-General, Standing Committee member and secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee. In 1998 he was elected secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee.

Li was alternate member of the 14th CPC Central Committee, and member of the 15th and 16th CPC Central Committees. In 2007, Li became secretary of Shandong CPC Provincial Committee and a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee. In 2008 he became a Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the 11th NPC.
