Epstein Israel, male, with acquired Chinese nationality, is a native of Poland. He was born in 1915, immigrated in 1917 to China, and in 1957 became a Chinese citizen. Epstein has enjoyed a successful career in journalism, and was received in 1944 by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, and other leading figures. He has served as editor of China Today magazine, and in 1982 he was elected vice-chairman of the Song Qingling Foundation.
