Cheng Zhiqing, female, Han nationality, is a native of Yingcheng, Hubei Province. She was born in 1934, and studied at Beijing University and Leningrad Normal College in the Soviet Union.
Cheng spent the early part of her career as a research fellow in her field of chemistry, at the Guangzhou Testing Analysis Center. Subsequently, she served as a leading council member of the Chinese Society of Testing and Analysis. In 1986, she joined the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and held leading positions in its Guangdong Provincial Committee, as well as in the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress.
Cheng Zhiqing was a member of the 7th and 8th CPPCC National Committees.
