Chen Jinhua, male, Han nationality, is a native of Qingyang County, Anhui Province. Chen was born in 1929, graduated from the People's University of China and Beijing Television University.
Chen began his career as a worker in the Ministry of Textile Industry. He later went on to head various textile and fiber enterprises. In 1977, he became vice-mayor of Shanghai, a post he held for 6 years. After his term in government, Chen returned to industry to serve as general manager of the China Petrochemical Company. He returned again to government in 1990 and served as minister of the State Commission for Economic Restructuring.
Chen was vice-chairman of the 9th CPPCC National Committee.
