Wang Qishan, male, Han nationality, is a native of Tianzhen County, Shanxi province. He was born in 1948, joined the CPC in 1983 and graduated from Northwest University. Wang has served as director of several leading banks including the China Investment Bank and the China Construction Bank. He served as a member of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee in 2003, and he was appointed mayor of Beijing in the same year.
In 2007 he became a member of the Politburo of the 17th CPC Central Committee, a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and in 2008 he became Vice-Premier of the State Council.
In 2012 he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the 18th CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Wang was named Vice-President of China in 2018.
