Biography

Shen Haixiong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He was born in 1967, joined the CPC in 1987, and entered the work force in 1989. He graduated from Chinese Literature Department of Hangzhou University with a Bachelor Degree and Advanced EMBA of Shanghai Jiaotong University. From 2008 to 2012, he was Director of Shanghai Headquarters of Finance Information Platform of Xinhua News Agency. From 2012 to 2014 he was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency. He was Vice-President of the Xinhua News Agency from 2014 to 2015. From 2015 to 2018 he was Director of the Propaganda Department of Guangdong Province. In 2018 he became President of China Central Television and deputy director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. He is an alternate member of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
