Liu Yingming, male, Han nationality, is a native of Fuzhou, Fujian Province. He was born in 1940 and graduated from the mechanics department of Beijing University in 1963.
Liu Yingming has spent the majority of his career in the academic field working as a professor and president of Sichuan University, as a member of the State Natural Science Fund, and as an officer of several academic societies. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has long been engaged in research in the topology and mathematics of uncertainty (fuzzy mathematics). On a national level, Liu was a deputy at both the 6th and 7th NPCs, a member of the standing committee of the 9th NPC, and as a member of the standing committee of the 8th CPPCC National Committee.
Liu Yingming is a member of the standing committee of the 9th NPC and vice-chairman of the 10th Central Committee of the Jiu San (September 3) Society.
