Biography

Liu Jieyi, male, Han nationality, is a native of Beijing. He was born in 1954 and holds a graduate degree. He is now an Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs. Area of responsibilities include North America and Oceania, international organizations and conferences, arms control, translation and interpretation. From 2009 to 2013 he was Deputy Director of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. In 2013 he was appointed the Permanent Representative to the Permanent Mission of the PRC to the United Nations. He is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
