Liu Yuan, male, Han nationality, is a native of Ningxiang Township, Hunan province. He was born in 1951. Liu is Liu Shaoqi's son. Liu joined the CPC in 1982, and he was conferred the police rank of major general in 1992 and promoted to the police rank of lieutenant general in 2000. Liu was elected deputy political commissar of the General Logistics Department of the PLA in 2003.
