Hu Wei, male, Han nationality, is a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang province. He was born in 1947, obtained a master's of economics, and joined the CPC in 1973. He is a senior economic engineer. He is currently vice-chairman of the standing committee of the Shanghai City People's Congress, and a member of the leading Party group.
He was a deputy to the 9th NPC.
