Biography

Chu Bo, male, Han nationality, is a native of Tongcheng, Anhui Province. He was born in 1944, graduated from Tianjin University and joined the CPC in 1969.

Chu spent the first 20 years of his career in Hunan Province, where he was mayor of Yueyang City, vice-governor of Hunan Province and deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee. Chu became governor of Hunan Province in 1999. In 2001, he was transferred to Inner Mongolia as secretary of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee, a position he held until 2009.

Chu was an alternate member of the 15th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee. He is currently a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and Deputy Director of the Financial and Economic Committee of the NPC.
