Biography Highlight

Zhao Weizhi, male, Han nationality, is a native of Haiyang, Shandong Province. He was born in 1924 and educated at Fujen Catholic University. He joined the China Democratic League in 1949.

Since joining the Jiu San Society in 1962, Zhao has served as a standing committee member or secretary general for several society central committees. From 1962 to 1983, he was vice-chairman of the Tianjin municipal committee of the society. In 1997, he became vice-chairman of the society‘s 10th central committee.

Zhao was appointed deputy secretary-general of the 8th and 9th CPPCC National Committees. During the 8th committee, he also was the Vice-Chairman of the subcommittee of foreign affairs.
