Biography
Zhang Youxia, male, Han nationality, is a native of Weinan City of Shaanxi Province. Zhang is a son of General Zhang Zongxun. He was born in 1950 and joined the PLA in 1968. From 2005 to 2007, he was Deputy Commander of Beijing Military Region of PLA. He served as Commander of Shenyang Military Region of PLA and was a Member of 17th CPC Central Committee. In 2012 he became Head of the PLA General Armament Department and a member of the 18th CPC Central Committee and a member of the 18th CPC Central Military Commission.
Zhang is a member of the Politburo of the 19th CPC Central Committee and in 2017 he was named Vice-Chairman of the 19th CPC Central Military Commission.
