Biography

Wang Jun, male, Han nationality, is a native of Datong, Shanxi Province. He was born in 1952 and graduated from the Philosophy Department of the Central Party School as an incumbent postgraduate and a senior engineer.

Wang has served in a number of Party-affiliated positions throughout his career. The Party commissioned him to the deputy secretary position of the Datong Mining Bureau. He later became the bureau's director-general and in 1997 moved to the Ministry of Coal Industry to assume the post of deputy minister. In 1998, he moved to the National Coal Industry bureau to serve as the deputy director-general.

Wang Jun served as secretary of the CPC Leading Party Group of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives from 2007-2008. He was an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and is now a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee. He served as Director of State Administration for Work Safety and in 2009, became governor of Shanxi Province.
