Biography

Lu Peijian, male, Han nationality, is a native of Hongze, Jiangsu Province. He was born in l928 and joined the CPC and the New 4th Army in l944.

Lu has spent over 50 years in the field of finance. He rose from an accountant in the Central China and the East China Military Commands in the late l940s through increasingly responsible positions in the Ministry of Finance beginning in l949, and was made vice minister in l978. He served as governor of the People's Bank of China from l982-l985, and has been chairman of the board of supervisors of the State Development Bank since l994. He was also a member of the l2th, l3th and l4th CPC Central Committees from l982-l997.
