Biography
Liu Zhizhong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Shantou, Guangdong province. He was born in 1942, joined the CPC in 1965, and graduated from Qinghua University. Liu began his career at leading chemical plants in Sichuan, and served as assistant director of the Sichuan Vinylon Plant for a decade, until 1983. In the early 1990s he served a term as vice-mayor of Chongqing, and concurrently served as director of the city's planning commission.
Liu Zhizhong became chairman of the CPPCC Chongqing Municipal Committee in 2003.
