Biography

Li Lanqing, male, Han nationality, is a native of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. He was born in 1932 and graduated from Fudan University.

Li worked in the automobile industry for over 20 years prior to becoming director of the Foreign Investment Administrative Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. He later became vice-mayor of Tianjin. In 1990, he was named minister of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade.

Li was an alternate member of the 13th CPC Central Committee, a member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees, a member of the Politburo of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees, and a Standing Committee member of Politburo of the 15th CPC Central Committee.
