Jiang Chailiang, male, Han nationality, is a native of Miluo City, Hunan Province. He was born in 1957, entered the work force in 1974, and joined the CPC in 1981. He graduated from Hunan Finance and Economics College (currently called Hunan University) with a Bachelor Degree in 1981, and graduated from Southwest Finance and Economics University with a Master Degree in 1996. From 2011 to 2014, he was Chairman and Party Chief of Agricultural Bank of China Co., Ltd. In September 2014, he was named Acting Governor and Vice-Governor of Jilin Province. Since 2012, he was alternate member, 18th CPC Central Committee and is now a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee. From 2014 to 2016 he was Governor of Jilin Province. In 2016 he became Secretary of the Hubei CPC Provincial Committee. In 2017 he was named Chairman of the Hubei Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee.
In February 2020, at the height of the coronavirus outbreak, Jiang Chaoliang was replaced as Secretary of the Hubei CPC Provincial Committee by Ying Yong.
