Hao Shui, male, Han nationality, is a native of Tongliao, Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region. He graduated from the Biology Department of Northeast China University and received his Ph.D. from Leningrad University in the USSR.
He was professor and president of Northeast China Normal University and superintendent of the Heredity and Cell Research Institute. He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993.
Hao is a cell biologist who has succeeded in breeding anti-disease wheat and has done research on the framework of chromosomes.
