Gan Yong, male, Han nationality, is a native of Neijiang City, Sichuan Province. He was born in 1947, graduated from Northeast University in 1970, and received a Master Degree from Shanghai University of Technology in 1982, and received a Doctorate Degree from Central Iron and Steel Research Institute in 1987. From 2001 to 2010, he was Director of Central Iron and Steel Research Institute. In 2010, he was appointed as Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
