Biography

Fan Baojun, male, Han nationality, is a native of Tianjin. He was born in 1940, and joined the CPC in 1965.

Fan spent the initial part of his career in his native Tianjin and held an early post as Director of the Tianjin Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau. In 1997, he was appointed vice minister of Civil Affairs, and subsequently became involved in social issues such as settling ex-servicemen, natural disaster reduction and drug abuse prevention. In 2000, he became the vice chairman of the China International Committee for Natural Disaster.

Fan Baojun was a standing committee member of the 9th CPPCC National Committee. He is currently Vice-President of the China Red Cross and a Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee for Handling Proposals of the CPPCC National Committee.
