Biography

Amudun Niyaz, male, Uygur nationality, is a native of Luntai, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He was born in 1932 and joined the CPC in 1953.

Niyaz spent most of his career in government and party positions in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, including serving as mayor of Urumqi City and vice-chairman of the Xinjiang Regional People's Government. He was elected deputy secretary of the CPC Committee Xinjian Uygur Autonomous Region in 1991 and served two terms as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional People's Congress.

Niyaz was a delegate to the 13th and 15th CPC National Congresses. He was also a deputy to the 4th and 8th NPCs.
